Vaginal Odors

There comes a point in every woman’s life when she needs a little extra help dealing with common vaginal issues such as odors. It's normal for your vagina to have a slight odor. But, a strong vaginal odor — for instance, a "fishy" smell — might be abnormal and could indicate a serious problem. An abnormal vaginal odor is usually associated with other vaginal signs and symptoms such as itching, burning, irritation or discharge. Anything with an odor is going to make anyone feel awkward, distressed and just plain not fresh.

Unusual vaginal odor happens from time to time. Even when you’re taking good care of your body and your vagina, you may experience unfamiliar smells. What’s not normal, however, is persistent or strong odors. A healthy vagina’s typical scent may best be described as “musky” or “fleshy.” A menstrual cycle might cause a slightly “metallic” scent for a few days. Intercourse may also change the smell temporarily.

Your vagina cleanses itself naturally. If you leave your vagina to its own devices, it can naturally maintain a healthy pH and keep unhealthy bacteria and unpleasant odors at bay. But if you notice a stark difference in your odor, then you may be experiencing a sign of a potential problem.

Covering up the problem with sprays, gels, washes, or perfumed soaps won’t help and may actually make things worse. The only real solution to vaginal odor is to restore and maintain your body’s delicate balance. Sometimes your body can do this on its own, but when it needs a little help:

GYNALAC is not intended to cure or treat an existing infection. The product works to help balance your vaginal pH levels, which can help to eliminate unwanted vaginal odors, including those associated with BV. Because GYNALAC has the same pH level as a healthy vagina and supports the vagina’s self-cleaning mechanisms, many women who use GYNALAC report a decrease in the occurrence of vaginal infections – like BV or yeast infections.

** If you have recurring vaginal discharge, persistent odor, itching, or discomfort, please be sure to contact your doctor.

You are now empowered to Conquer Vaginal Odor on your Own and keep your body in balance.
